Powede Eniola Lawrence. Lawrence is my maiden name. I won Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria Tourism in 2013 and started the Powede Lawrence Foundation the same year, before I married and became Powede Lawrence-Awujo. So the surname on the foundation is mine. It is not a third party this shop sends money to.

The foundation works with people living with disabilities, and with families who have less than they need. Most of it happens in Bayelsa, where I am from, and at Niger Delta University, where I studied. We renovated a school in Yenagoa for students with physical disabilities. Every year we fund a scholarship there for one student. Through the year we take food and gifts to children on the streets, in orphanages and in hospital paediatric wards.

This is a small operation. One school, one scholarship a year, a handful of visits. I would rather tell you the size of it than round it up, because the second you round it up nobody believes the rest of the page either.

The pieces were always going to leave my closet. This decides where part of the money lands on the way out.
